Puja and Suraj reconnected when Suraj was performing with his band at Amazon's Diwali party in Seattle. Puja was mesmerized by his angelic voice and his singing! Later that night, Suraj invited her for an afterparty where they played Mafia. Suraj was impressed by her intelligence and her ability people. Specifically, she could always catch onto when Suraj was the mafia in the game, something that even his friends could not read.

Just a couple of days later, Suraj asked Puja if she would like to get into a serious relationship and give this an honest shot... She liked him and his company so she agreed without expecting much! Suraj also agrees that he took a big leap of faith by asking Puja for a serious relationship without much expectations.

Soon, they became very good friends. They bonded over their love for art and nature, their trauma from their recent exes 😛, and also realized that they were in a very similar phase of life and had very similar long term goals.

Puja and Suraj went on multiple trips where things went wrong (story for another time) but they always focused on fixing the problem, were supportive of each other, and could always laugh at things at the end of the day. This was very comforting and promising for our couple.

In Puja's words, "Relationship with Suraj is the one in which I have felt most loved! He cares about the relationship and puts in the hard work it takes to make things work ". Suraj found Puja very accepting and understanding, in his words, "I can discuss anything with Puja and I know she will understand and not judge me. She is potentially the person who knows the most about me!"

Suraj is a big cricket fan and really wanted to watch Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in a stadium, before they retire. Puja decided to gift Suraj tickets to ICC T20 Men’s World Cup Finals for his birthday and planned a trip to the Caribbean.

Suraj decided to add scuba diving to their trip as Puja loves diving! Therefore, the couple went on a trip to the Caribbean where they were doing things that they loved.

Even before the trip to the Caribbean, at multiple points, the couple had felt that they right for each other as life partners and had discussed it.

The feeling was more solidified during the trip. Suraj decides that if India wins the world cup, he will propose to Puja. He wasn’t sure about the ring, thus, gets a candy ring from the nearby supermarket!
