The wedding is going to be a modified version of a traditional Bengali Wedding. In case you are interested to read more, click here. There are three main events and one welcome lunch which means guests need four sets of attires.
This includes your welcome in traditional Bengali fashion, traditional Bengali lunch along with henna artists who can apply henna on the guests palms. Traditionally henna is applied on women but feel free to break gender norms and get your BAE's initials written ๐
Attire: Wear comfortable dark colored clothes. Note that Henna can stain your clothes.
With the theme of the East meet the West, the Sangeet and Cocktail ceremony is all about dancing, singing, and celebrating a day before the couple's big day. Sangeet ceremony will have multiple dance/music performances by friends and family from the bride and the groom's side followed by bride and groom's performance. As a lot of you know, our groom is quite a singer so you can expect a lot of singing!
After the sangeet is over, guests will have dinner and then move indoor for the cocktail ceremony. Here, expect speeches from bride and groom's close ones along with drinking and dancing!
Attire: Lehengas, Sarees, Sherwanis, Kurtas with a lot of sequins or Suits/Tuxs from the theme colors below
Note: You need one attire for the night (you wont have the time to change)
Haldi is a ceremony in which friends and family apply turmeric on the Bride and Groom as it is considered good for the skin.
Post haldi, we will have a pool party for those who want to get inside water. For others there are fun activities to engage in. We hope the DJ would be able to make you groove and dance. One of the stalls will be distributing your customized souvenir from the Bride and Groom, make sure that you don't miss it!
Attire: Kurta Pajama, Salwar Kameez, Skirt-Crop Top in the theme colors below; Donโt forget your Swimsuit!
This is a traditional Bengali wedding with some modern modifications. This has main five events- Baarat, Bride's Entry, Shubho Drishti, Mala Bodol, and Pheras. Pheras are the most important part of a Hindu wedding which can occur at a particular time only.
Attire: Traditional Indian attires in shades of red and off-white. Think Sarees, Lehengas, Sherwanis, Kurta Dhoti, Kurta Pajama.
